My husband and I love sushi/sashimi, and he likes other dishes. However, due to food allergies I stick to sushi/sashimi. We tried this restaurant twice on the recommendation of friends. The food is ok, but not something we would go back for, We like Samurai Japan in Vestavia and Nori Thai in Hoover much better. The staff is very friendly and if we are ever in the area we may go back...we just prefer Samurai or Nori Thai.
Don't walk - RUN!!! Full disclosure - we have always used the table service side and not hibachi side but this is our go to place for Margarita's!! They make them jusssst right!! Their Sushi is out of this world too!! Love this place!!
It's a hole in the wall but the food and service is always great! My favorite Hibachi in Birmingham by far.
We enjoy Mt Fuji. The staff is always very attentive and kind. The hibachi is always fun but when we dine in on regular tables it's just as good and cook e fresh and comes so hot it's just off the grill like at the hibachi. My husband loves the sushi here as well. I've read reviews where the decor lacks but honestly I don't even see that when the food is as good as it is.
This place was soooooo yummy! We ordered the garden salad as an appetizer, which was good. Our sushi was amazing though. We ordered the Alaska roll, eel avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll and dragon roll. I want to go back and order the same thing all over again!!!
My wonderful coworker brought us lunch from here one day. Wow! There was a LOT of food! We each had about two day's worth of lunches in three boxes! She had talked about this place for a while so I was looking forward to trying it. We had chicken fried rice and their yummy roll sushi. The chicken friend rice was delicious. Plenty of chicken and grilled vegetables. Surin's chicken fried rice is still my favorite though which I will have to bring for her to try someday. The Yummy roll was delicious. Nothing raw. A few pieces of fried shrimp, and plenty of avocado! The yummy sauce was probably what made everything better on bothe the fried rice and the sushi. We had so many containers of it! Mt Fuji treated us well!
We got the sushi lunch special which they still run on weekends at a slightly higher cost. On weekends you get the soup and salad though. We were almost Rudely slurping the clear onion soup down as it was soo tasty! We've found we like the fish in our sushi chunkier and they accommodated. We stuck with the yellowtail and the spicy salmon and it was great.
